Brand Corrections Policy

Version Effective Questions: support@scanveer.com

ScanVeer wants product information to be right. Manufacturers, brand owners, retailers and consumers can ask us to review a product record, a label reading, or the evidence behind an ingredient flag. This page explains how, and the rules that keep the review independent.

Open the correction form

Who can submit

Anyone. You do not need a ScanVeer account. Manufacturers and brand representatives should submit from a company email address and attach a current label image so the reviewer can verify the formulation on the package.

What you can ask us to review

What to include

The product and barcode, your company, a contact email, the type of correction, a clear explanation, and where possible a photo of the current label or ingredient panel, a scientific or regulatory document, and a supporting URL. Evidence about an ingredient should come from a regulator, a recognised scientific body or peer-reviewed literature; marketing material, internal test results without methodology, and claims of the form "our product is safe" are not evidence the review can act on.

What happens next

  1. You receive a ticket ID by email immediately. Keep it for any follow-up.
  2. A ScanVeer reviewer examines the submission against the product label and, for evidence claims, against the evidence registry and the sources cited.
  3. Every status change is recorded in the ticket's history and in an append-only audit log.
  4. You receive the outcome at the address you provided: updated (the record or evidence entry was changed), no change (with the reason), or rejected (with the reason).

Tickets are handled in the order received. Because reviews involve reading evidence, we do not promise a fixed turnaround; if your ticket is urgent because a product record is materially wrong, say so in the explanation.

The rules

  • A score is never changed automatically because a submission was received. A ticket is a request for human review, not an edit. Nothing in the correction system can write to a product record, a cache, a scoring table or an evidence file.
  • No payment mechanism may influence the scientific review. There is no fee for a correction request and no paid tier, and none may be added. Advertising, affiliate revenue, certification fees and any other commercial relationship are walled off from the review.
  • Evidence beats assertion. A flag is removed or downgraded when the evidence registry is updated with a reviewed source, not because a brand disagrees with it. A flag can also be strengthened by a submission.
  • Reformulations are checked against the label. A new ingredient list is applied when a current label image or an equivalent authoritative source supports it.
  • Outcomes are recorded. Changes to evidence weights appear in the Registry Changelog; changes to a product record appear in the product's history for reviewers.

Disagreements

If you disagree with an outcome, reply to the ticket email with the new evidence you want considered. Repeated submissions without new evidence may be closed without further review. ScanVeer's scores are its own assessments and opinions, published in good faith under the Scoring Methodology.

Privacy

Ticket data is described in the Privacy Policy. Attachments are kept for 180 days; the ticket record is kept as an audit record. If you file a ticket while signed in and later delete your account, your email on the ticket is replaced with "deleted-user".
